If you have not already done so, please ensure that you've completed the action items listed below:
- (SchoolEngage via your MyCBE Account) Due September16
- Demographic Verification - 2025-26 – This form includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
- Citizenship Information Update - 2025-26 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
- Annual Authorization - 2025-26 – Combines the following forms:
- School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
- Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties. Highwood School uses this for the annual school yearbook and posting classroom activity photos onto Google Classroom.
- Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties. Highwood School uses this for the annual Lunar New Year Celebration at the Jubilee Auditorium.
- As per of our Administrative Regulation 6002 – Student Health Services Due Immediately
- A Student Health Plan is required for all students with medical conditions that may impact their access to meaningful education services.
- In addition to the Student Health Plan, a Student Health Emergency Response Protocol is required for all students with life-threatening allergies and other health conditions.
- Therefore, if your child has a medical condition and/or requires support with the administration of medication at school, parents/guardians must complete the Student Health Plan annually. For students with potential life-threatening conditions, parents/guardians must also complete the Student Health Emergency Response Protocol. We ask that you please complete and return these forms to the school as soon as possible.
- Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation(CASL) Due Immediately - Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation is intended to prevent people from getting commercial electronic messages that they did not agree to. It is important that all parents sign-up to receive commercial messages from the school as often messages pertain to fees (even if they can be waived); fundraisers or requests for donations (i.e. donations for the Terry Fox run); tickets sales (i.e. Lunar New Year Gala Concert in January); school merchandise for sale (i.e. school shirts); activities or services with an associated cost (i.e. fun lunches and fieldtrips); and bus registration. It is free to sign-up by using this link: Subscribe to School Messages
Please contact the school if you have any questions: highwood@cbe.ab.ca or 403-777-6200 ext 0 for the office. We ask that you avoid calling during our peak times- at the beginning of the day when school starts and at the very end of the day during dismissal.
Sincerely,
Highwood School
