Dear Highwood Families,

Here are just a few points of clarification and reminders:

• A VERY BIG THANK YOU to school council who will cover the costs of a few upcoming events to help families minimize expenses.  As a result, the following will be FREE for students:
• • Kindergarten: Clay for Kids in-school workshop (currently in progress)
  • Grades 1 and 2: Swimming lessons in June
  • Grades 3 and 4: Wall climbing (currently in progress)

Council is able to cover the costs of these events from the money raised during the last casino.  Our next scheduled casino will be in November and we will be in need of many volunteers.  We hope you will be able to help out at that time!

• The May assembly and Spirit Day was originally scheduled for Thursday, May 23.  Due to an error on our part, we have moved the assembly and Spirit Day to Wednesday, May 22.  The hosts of this assembly are Mon/Wed Kindergarten, which makes it hard to do an assembly on Thursday when they’re not at school! 
• Fun Lunch will remain on Thursday, May 23 as arrangements had already been made with the vendor before the scheduling error was realized.
• Due to an error on the vendors part for April’s Fun Lunch, everyone should have received a full refund in their Healthy Hunger account.  The refund came in the form of a Healthy Hunger credit.  If you do not wish to receive the refund as a credit, please call Healthy Hunger directly to ask for a refund to your credit card.
• Are you a parent of a kindergarten, grade 1 or grade 2 daughter?  If your daughter has outgrown some pants, we are looking for girl pant donations.  We often need extra pants in the office to loan to students when they have an accident.  Thank you!
• No school on Friday, May 17 (PD Day)
• No school on Monday, May 20 (Victoria Day)
• If you will be leaving early for summer holidays, please notify the school and teachers.
